first date

The newly released

My worst date ever was with a guy I met from a dating website. I had to pick him up, later to find out because he lost his license to a DUI. He told me over dinner how he had just been released from prison the week before for theft charges. He even asked me to drive him to his probation office the next day. Needless to say I cut dinner short and never spoke to him again.

We saw Elf

I met this girl from a mutual friend. I had her phone number and were just texting each other. We decided to meet. I picked her up and she lit up a cigarette in my car. I said “there’s no smoking in my car” but she decided to smoke anyway. Then we saw ELF with Will Farrell. It was clear she though the film was too childish, and it was horribly awkward watching the movie together. Then when I was taking her home she asked to be dropped off at the bus stop instead of having me take her all the way home! It was not a fun date and I never heard from her again.

slip and fall

I was trying to get with a guy that used to come into my work every day to get food. He didn’t seem interested but I kept trying to talk to him and go on a date with him. He finally agreed to go on a date and we agreed to meet that Saturday. Saturday rolls around and I’m looking all cute. Well it decided to snow and get super icy the night before and I didn’t even think about this as I was getting ready. I put a pair of sky high heels on and strutted out the door to his car. As soon as I walked out my door I hit an icy patch and went flying down the stairs and smacked right into the side of his car! He thought I was pretty stupid and the date went terribly. We never made it to a second date although I tried to give it another shot.

I had known this girl Lisa for several months; we met through a friend. We got along good and had fun together, so I finally worked up the courage to ask her on a date. It was the typical uninspired dinner-drinks-movie combo, which I know is lame on my part. Still, the date started off with her complaining about her family issues at home. Okay, not a great start, but I understand having a bad day. We then move on to dinner, have a meal with small talk, and move on to the bar to have a few drinks before the show starts. Turns out, she knows the bartender quite well, and they go on to have a 20 minute conversation as if I’m not even there, despite me introducing myself and trying to get in on the conversation. They were also very familiar with each other, casual touching was going on, etc. At this point, I just throw more drinks down my throat so I can at least try to forget what a horrible date I’m on, lol!

One of the worst dates I ever went on was when I was in high school. A cute boy from my high school band had asked me out to see a movie and then go out to dinner. He was a gymnast and incredibly cute so I was very excited about the date. We had planned to go see a romantic comedy, but when we arrived at the movie theatre, the comedy was sold out and we ended up seeing a Will Ferrell. It was incredibly crude and crass and especially on a first date, it made us both really uncomfortable. We sat through the movie not being able to look at each other and hoping that it would end soon, obviously not what you’re looking for on a date. Afterwards, we went out to dinner. I ordered first and got a small steak with a baked potato since steak is what the restaurant was known for. What I didn’t realize was that gymnasts are always worried about staying slim and constantly watching their weight. He usually ate very small portions, especially when eating out at a restaurant. He ordered his meal after me and got a small side salad with dressing on the side. I thought he was joking at first, but then I realized that he was serious and my face turned bright red. So, of course when my food arrived, I could barely eat any of it and I was so embarrassed that I had ordered more than he had. Surprisingly, he did ask me out again and we dated for a few months, but that first date gives us a lot of laughs even today.

Just My Luck

I was on my way for the first date with this beautiful young girl. While on the way there some jerk cut me off in trafic who I procedded to yell at as I drove by repassing them at over ninety miles an hour. I arrived at the restaurant and was thrilled to see my date come running out the front door and give me a hug. Things were going great as we went inside and ate. We talked for a long time and then she said she had a surprise for me. She told me that her mom was going to stop by and meet me at the restaurant. I was very excited about this because I knew I was in when I got to meet the parents. We go outside to wait for her and I see a blue car that very strangely resembles the car that had cut me off in traffic. Even stranger was the fact that I was now being pulled by my date towards this car. As we walked towards the car and her mom stepped out. You can imagine the rest.

I was really excited to go to our school’s talent show. It was a dress up event and I had been asked by Larry. He was a nice guy, and everyone seemed to think that he liked me. That is, everyone except for him. He actually liked someone else, as he made obvious throughout the night. We dressed up as celebrities, and I had a very nice dress on. He never once told me that I looked nice at all. We sat on our ride to the event in silence mostly. He was too distracted to notice that I was sitting right next to him. At the event, we sat down with some of his friends. Watching the actual event wasn’t too bad. At intermission, he just left! All of his friends left, and I was sitting there all by myself. Fortunately, my friend Bob was there, so I went to talk to him. I have now been dating Bob for almost two years. Most people wouldn’t be very happy if their date was like Larry and didn’t talk to them, but it turned out to be the start of something beautiful for me.

Some guy I had a crush on all 4 years of high school finally asked me out on a date. I was so excited, I was telling friends and family about the good news, and losing sleep over it every night from the excitement! We talked for a week, until it was the night of our date. We planned out that he was going to pick me up at 8, and we would go for a dinner and a movie. I was looking very forward to this because I have liked this guy for so long. So we went out to a very fancy restaurant, the date was going great! I couldnt of asked for it to go any better! We were at the restaurant for about an hour before his phone rang off the hook! Every time he answered the call, and it sounded like he was fighting with his mom or something. I thought it was very rude he would even answer the phone during our date, let alone fight with someone for 25 minutes right in front of me! Anyway, so after we got done eating we left and we were on our way to the movie. His phone rang about 3 more times and he ignored it. I was extremely surprised when we did not pull into the movies, but we pulled into some random drive way that I didn’t even know. A girl our age came out and him and her started fighting, and she looked at me and got me involved by calling me very rude names, saying I was trying to take her boyfriend! I asked him what was going on and it turned out that was his girlfriend, and he asked me out on a date to get her jealous because they were fighting! I had to get my own ride home from her house.

Falling for you

It was my sophomore year in college and I had never really even been out with a guy. I had always been overweight and a bit awkward. I had gotten dressed up to go out to eat with a guy. I had my friends do my hair and makeup. I put on a dress and even panty hose. I never wore them and well I do not wear them now. I remember being so nervous. He had been a friend for forever, but still actually going out to eat with him, it was nerve racking. I was ready to go and realized that I had an extra hour to waste. I was so nervous I completely forgot to look at the time. That was by far the longest hour ever! When the time came to go I met him in the quad on campus. We were going to meet there and walk to his car. I met him there and we started to talk and walk and decided to walk around a little bit before we went to eat. After about 30 minutes of walking around we started towards his car. His car was parked off to the side of one of the men’s dorms on campus. As we were coming up to his car I had stopped paying attention to what I was doing and was focusing on the conversation. Right about that time my foot caught a raise in the sidewalk and I found myself falling through the air in slow motion. Now being a bigger girl at the time, not pretty. The slow motion ended the second I hit and skidded across the concrete, not only tearing my panty hose, but taking what little bit of dignity I had left. Luckily we laughed about it all night!

The nose didn’t know.

I once met a girl in my Interpersonal Communications class at college, and throughout the semester I would think of ways to talk to her. One day I finally worked up the courage to ask her on a date, and she had actually accepted. I was so excited I prepared all week for the date. Finally the night had arrived and we went to dinner. The date was fine, and afterwards we talked in her car for a little while and finally we wrapped the night up with a hug. I had thought it was a successful date, but a week later she had not talked to me, except the occasional hi. She eventually told me that she wasn’t interested in me. I found out a couple years later by a close friend that she had been told it was because I had hair growing on my nose. Up until that point I had never realized that I had nose hair. A simple shave could of made my date go a lot smoother.
